Named after the Roman statesman who stood for the Republic’s principles, Cato Minor offers a modern defense of democratic values. By examining the mechanics of our voting systems and local governance, Cato Minor seeks to restore the foundational transparency required for a free society.

Cato Minor is a pen name inspired by the Roman statesman who stood as the final bulwark against the collapse of the Republic. Writing from the “City of Oaks” (Raleigh, NC), the modern Cato is a seasoned technologist and trained precinct official who believes that democracy, much like a complex server cluster, requires constant monitoring, transparent logs, and rigorous maintenance.

Her writing focuses on restoring the “root access” of the individual citizen, ensuring that the gears of democracy remain visible, accountable, and free from the “proprietary” interference of modern political machines. She believes that without freedom of thought, there is no wisdom—and without freedom of speech, there is no liberty.
