Why this site

Why?

Honestly? I got frustrated.

Every election cycle, I’d watch the noise machine crank up — the outrage, the spin, the deliberate confusion — and I’d find myself struggling to separate what a candidate actually stands for from what someone wanted me to feel about them.

I wanted a place where I could think clearly, without all of that. So I gave myself two simple questions to work with.

• Does this politician actually respect the Constitution and mean it when they take their oath of office?
• Are they genuinely showing up for the people who elected them — or just for themselves?

I’m not a political scientist. I’m not a journalist. I’m just someone who believes that paying attention to the people we hand power to is part of being a citizen — and that it’s worth doing carefully.

This site is as much my education as anything else.

I’m going to get things wrong sometimes, and I’ll try to say so when I do. But I’d rather think out loud and be corrected than stay quiet while the noise keeps winning.
